Coomalie Community Government Council

The Vision of the Coomalie Community Government Council is to sustain and nurture the growth of the lifestyle and quality of life of residents and visitors. This will be achieved through improvements to economic, cultural and ecological opportunities.

Office Premises Located at 141 Cameron Rd Batchelor

The Coomalie Council was formed in 1991.

The area governed by Coomalie Council covers approximately 1,500 square kilometres. The boundary of this area extends from Manton Dam in the north, to the town of Adelaide River in the south and east from the actual Adelaide River, to Litchfield National Park in the west.

Wards

The community government area is made up of the following Wards:-

the Batchelor Township ward containing an area of 10 square kilometres;
the Adelaide River Township ward containing an area of 8 square kilometres;
the Batchelor Rural ward containing an area of 126 square kilometres;
the Adelaide River Rural ward containing an area of 237 square kilometres;
the Lake Bennett ward containing an area of 165 square kilometres; and
the Coomalie/Tortilla ward containing an area of 954 square kilometres.

The council consists of 6 members, comprising 1 member representing the Batchelor Township Ward, 1 member representing the Adelaide River Township Ward and 1 member representing each of the other Wards.
